One Year Tin

I made this tin for my niece for her first birthday. it has 12 pouches to hold photos from her first 12 months of life. i also made journaling cards for her firsts.... first word, first steps, first food etc...... i heat embossed her name on the front with her birthday and some flowers. when it is opened there is a pouch (made from envelopes) and a card for each month. some of the cards are embossed and others have little poems or sayings on them. i inked the edges of each card also.

i thought this would be a unique alternative "baby book". pictures and notes and anything else can be put in this tin to remember the first year.

Holiday Pass along Plate

if you are looking for something to give with treats, this is a neat idea. the plate i saw in a magazine was manufactured but i really liked the concept so i made one of my own. i went to walmart and found a clear glass plate, mod podge and some fabric. i printed the poem onto an iron-on transfer and ironed it onto the fabric i wanted to use. then i just simply mod podged the fabic onto the glass plate. i had to make sure that the edges were glued really well so they wouldn't peel up. (you could just pull the fabric off otherwise). then i let it dry and there you go....... you probably can't submerge this into water but you could wipe it off with a wet rag, so cookies or something to that effect wouldn't be hard to clean off and then pass the plate on.
